Cassandra Campbell's voice drips with Southern charm, and her acting abilities shine in this fast-paced romp. Campbell is endearing and just a little naughty as beautiful Carlotta Wren, who goes from not being able to get a date to being overrun with eligible bachelors as she tries to solve the mystery of who killed her ex-fiancé's wife, a woman who also happened to be Carlotta's best, although nastiest, retail sales customer. Campbell is equally adroit in her portrayal of Carlotta's bad-boy but cute little brother, a gambling addict who works as a body mover for a funeral home. His vocation provides several amusing moments in the story, as well as a motley collection of minor characters, including a “goth” caterer and several loan sharks' collection enforcers.
