THE BAY

Di Morrissey writes lyrical, romantic novels set in distinctive Australian locales. THE BAY features a tropical coastal village in eastern Australia inhabited by the descendants of whalers and newcomer bohemian types, as well as drug addicts and dropouts. Into this mix comes Holly Jamieson, suburban housewife, who is planning to run a B&B in an old sea captain's mansion. Popular Australian actress Kate Hood narrates the story in a brisk yet smooth voice, capturing the essence of each character and enchanting listeners with the author’s beautiful descriptions of the landscape and shore. The story, while charming, is overly long and features a distractingly large cast of characters, but the community portrayed seems real, and its problems are ones listeners can appreciate.
