DRAWING IN THE DUST

by | Read by Justine Eyre

Fiction • 14 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2009

When Page Brookstone experiences every archaeologist's dream—finding previously unknown ancient documents—she soon encounters political bureaucracies who have something to gain from keeping them hidden. Each chapter of this novel begins with a passage from the scrolls discovered by Page, creating a story within the story. Justine Eyre is quite believable as the naïve researcher. Eyre's sweet, rich voice dramatizes Page's thoughts as she uncovers the ancient scrolls and works to make them public. The action moves briskly even though it’s filled with biblical and geographical references. Eyre manages a number of accents, from American to Middle Eastern, and credibly portrays the tension between the characters. R.F. © AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine [Published: DECEMBER 2009]
