Jack is terminally ill, ready to say good-bye to his family, when his wife dies in a car accident. Jack recovers his health, keeps the family together, and builds a new life. Ron McLarty performs with a slightly gruff voice, full of diverse accents and the emotions of a man who is coming to terms with life and his own survival. Orlagh Cassidy portrays the female characters in sultry tones as they support the men in their lives. Both narrators draw listeners into a story of love, family, and hope with seamless interchanges of dialogue. As Jack renovates the family home and lighthouse, the family pulls together. Together, McLarty and Cassidy set the cornerstone of this loving home. M.B.K. © AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2011]
