U.S. Army Captain Montalvan returned from Iraq with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). His injuries left him disconnected from family and friends, and unable to earn a living. Enter Tuesday, a highly trained golden retriever service dog. Montalvan’s first-person account of their journey together offers rare insight into the issues facing returning veterans and the lifesaving bond between a service dog and human.
