BUMPER CROP

Author Lansdale knows something about horror; among his prolific output, the novella BUBBA HO-TEP became the cult-favorite film of the same name. BUMPER CROP, a collection of short stories, features a range of horrors from demonic duck hunters to a pair of animated dentures—with a taste for flesh. Wyntner Woody narrates Lansdale's introductions with a Southern accent slightly broader than the author's own, and many of the characters in the stories have variations on that accent. In addition, regional and international accents give depth. Woody is clearly having fun with this book; his narration rises and falls from strong to subtle.
