Solid pacing conveys suspense as the incorrigible 12-year-olds are expelled from school and embark on a trip to a farm to rescue their cat. Johnson's assumed British accent and dry delivery bring out the wit in the repartee between Shakespeare and Poe as they attempt, from the afterlife, to warn the twins that the journey is an elaborate trap by a villain who wants to use the twins as a portal between the living and the dead.
