THE TOMB

Paul Wilson's first of 20-plus Repairman Jack stories features ancient Indian curses from the subcontinent and beings from a crypt who are dealing out vengeance in New York City. Narrator Joe Barrett brings more character voices to life in this work than many accomplished narrators do in a brace of efforts: French, Italian, Indian, British, NYC Jewish, NYC black, a kid, even a guy talking with his mouth full. And many of these voices are just bit parts--cab drivers and such. But the color they bring to the narrative is incredible. Where the story line sometimes slows the listener is treated to one of the sterling reasons that audio can just be so much more than a print book--a great narrator.
