SEDUCING INGRID BERGMAN

Jonathan Keeble's deep and gravelly voice suits this novelization of the secret love affair between WWII photographer Robert Capa and Hollywood actress Ingrid Bergman. As the story whisks in and out of mysterious Parisian and Hollywood hideaways and cafés, the writing is flowery, and Keeble portrays all characters with appropriate timing and tone, as well as a British accent. But the fleshing out of the few known facts surrounding the purportedly real events of the relationship is wanting. Ultimately, the listener is left adrift despite Keeble's strong effort.
