God doesn't always stop bad things from happening to his chosen flock, and He didn't stop Michael Godfrey's death from cancer before the age of 30. Michael's widow, Lara, sees God's will in her desire to bear Michael's child through a sperm sample frozen before his radiation treatment. But someone else also has designs on this baby. The devil, in the person of Devin Sloane, is determined to use Lara's pregnancy to manipulate the human gene pool. From the first cassette, narrator Alexandra O'Karma cloaks her performance in darkness. Her vocal tones are low and hushed, only occasionally lightening up for portions of dialogue.
