DOES AMERICA NEED A FOREIGN POLICY? Toward a Diplomacy for the 21st Century

by | Read by Philip Bosco, Henry Kissinger (intro.)

Contemporary Culture • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 2001

Kissinger is well known for his foreign policy ideas and for his distinctive voice. But that voice is not suited to reading audiobooks. Thankfully, Kissinger reads only a short introduction. With a solid baritone voice and an even pace, Philip Bosco reads the text in a dignified and highly formal manner. In fact, one might say this audiobook sounds like a series of formal lectures being delivered at an Ivy League institution. The text is sharply written and is a good introduction to current issues in American foreign policy, such as our current relationships with Russia and China. The discussion of globalization, wherein Kissinger strongly criticizes the international protesters, is particularly informative. Even if you disagree with Kissinger's policy positions, you will find his discussion interesting. M.L.C. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 02]
