GEORGE SPEAKS

Listeners are in store for fun as a 4-week-old George shocks his 7-year-old sister, Laura, with his first words. Private conversations and scheming lead to the sharing of George's secret, first with his parents and then with other relatives all during his first year of life. Narrator Stanley McGeagh has as much fun with vocalizing the characters as George has with manipulating his world. As George, he alternates among a brisk, matter-of-fact voice, exasperation at all he needs to teach to Laura, and "goo-gooing" in his best baby way. As Laura, he's full of excitement with the prospects of this remarkable brother. McGeagh gives voice to the parents, school principal, and doctor who all find a talking baby preposterous.
