The roaring sound of high-flying adventure is combined with the seldom-celebrated history of the British Air Transport Auxiliary, which employed 168 brave and capable women pilots during WWII. Playing, among others, the plucky Irish lass, the tough American, the mysterious French woman, and their real-life leader, Pauline Gower, a talented group of young British actors capture the courage it took to ferry damaged and repaired aircraft from one base to another all over England. Anchored by an all-female writer/director team, the crisp, brash production mixes an original score, plenty of sound effects, and historically accurate detail to keep the listener engaged.
