SUCH A QUIET PLACE

Narrator Rebekkah Ross establishes the perfect pace to depict a sleepy college town where small changes are noticed and unstructured summers leave residents with idle time. A year and a half ago, a couple was found dead in their home, and their neighbor Ruby was imprisoned for their murder. When her conviction is overturned, Ruby returns to her old home, where her roommate, Harper, still lives. Suspicion spreads, and when Harper receives threatening notes, she knows she must work quickly to uncover the truth before someone else dies. Ross seamlessly uses changes in tone to portray the diverse attitudes of people who are posting on the neighborhood community web page.
