Davenport and his good friend, investigator Virgil Flowers, travel around the country, tracking down a vigilante group. Sandford excels at creating three-dimensional characters and high-action plots that take listeners through hairpin turns. Ferrone is in perfect step with the story's pace and tone, as well as the personalities of its quirky characters. He effectively differentiates the males and softens his voice to convey the females. Listeners will enjoy the banter between Davenport and Flowers and will also gain insight into the challenges of writing and publishing as Flowers turns to writing crime fiction.
