Petros Castellanos, a long-haired 17-year-old from a Greek island, is the focus of this Amazon Original audiobook from award-winning author Rose Tremain. Petros's father, a Greek who owns two taxis, wants his son to join the business. Petros's mother is English--and there's the rub. She encourages him to go to London, then see the world. He goes, and it backfires. Narrating in a youthful voice, British narrator Joe Pitts delivers this coming-of-age story with a sure tone, a measured pace, and an empathetic style. The result is a fun hour-plus for the listener. Especially enjoyable is the repartee between the parents, which is cleverly written and believable.
