Even before moving to the U.S. from London eight years ago, Josephine Bailey was a fan of George Guidall’s audiobook readings of Tony Hillerman’s books. Captivated by the Guidall/Hillerman portraits of the Southwest, Josephine was inspired to see the American West, and after making her way to LA, her international career as a dancer turned more toward theater and voice work. She performed with narrator Frank Muller in a show, getting a little closer to audiobook recording. Her own recordings began with the British classics JANE EYRE and THE SECRET GARDEN . She has used her subtly nuanced style to enliven historical fiction and light romances, and now, Catherine Texier’s VICTORINE gives her more to work with. Her reading of the young adult title A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY by Libba Bray is also a captivating performance.
